Tapovani was founded by three friends and musicians: Garthigan Balachandran, Manjiv Sharma, and Tamesh Doobay. What began as a shared love for music, culture, and community grew into an organization dedicated to creating meaningful artistic experiences and supporting others in doing the same.
The goal behind Tapovani is to make the arts more accessible, to support artists, and to help communities come together through music, dance, culture, and live performance. As musicians ourselves, we understand both the joy and the challenges of bringing an event to life. Tapovani was created to help bridge that gap by providing platforms, guidance, and support for artists, charities, temples, non-profits, and community organizations.
The name “Tapovani” is inspired by the Sanskrit idea of “Tapovan” or “Tapovana,” often understood as a place of spiritual practice, reflection, and growth. For us, Tapovani represents a space where creativity, culture, discipline, and community can come together.
Tapovani is based in Ontario, Canada, and serves communities across the province through concerts, cultural events, fundraising initiatives, artist support, and event production guidance.
